Hello, My name is John Willis. I was in the Navy for 20 years ending in July 70 When I retird. I would do it all over again, but am just too old for that now. I retired as GMTC. I understand the rate is nolonger on the books. Guess they didn't need them any more.

This is the USS Stickell DD888. She was the first ship I searved on off the coast of Korea. At that time, she had 3 5"38 gun mounts, and a Torpedo tube mount between the stacks. She also had 40MM mounts. There was no Helo Pad then.

</DIV

The USS Henderson was my second ship, again off the coast of Korea. She was equipe the same way as the Stickell.

This was ship No. 3, Still off the coast of Korea. She ended my first enlistment. While aboard destroyers I was a torpedo man.

After reenlistment, I was transfered to COMAIRPAC, and was in carriers for the rest of my time in the navy.

The USS Boxer CVS21 was my next ship.

The USS Hancock CVA19

USS Independence CVA62

This was my last ship, and I think the one I liked best.

All the ships I served on were good ships, and each has its own memories, There were good men and good friends on them all, I have long sense lost touch with the men I served with and would like very much to find them. If you remember me, Please e-mail me and lets get to know one another all over again

Would also like to talk with any navy personnel, both retired and active.

USS ENTERPRISE CVN 65

DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER CVN 69
